RUKA THERAPY

MODALITIES

Myo-fascial Massage/Bodywork

This type of massage addresses all of the fascia between the skin and the bones. Fascia is what keeps us all held together like a spider web. The massage movement of the fascia is slower and deep, yet gentle, allowing for a pain-free experience. Extremely relaxing and highly therapeutic. Exceptional for pain relief and deep relaxation.

Clinical Deep Tissue Massage/Trigger POINT Therapy

This style of deep tissue uses a very firm pressure to address adhesions and deep knots in the muscle fibers. Heat and tools, if indicated, may be used. This is very therapeutic work that is good for acute and chronic pain, trigger point release, stiff neck/lower back, sports-related injuries, and fatigued bodies from highly physical activities.

Body/Mind Restorative Relaxation Treatment

This unique and gentle treatment is very effective and encompasses a wide range of techniques and practices. It is rooted in the principle that the body triggers healing processes when we are in deep rest and relaxation. This blend of myofascial massage and gentle structural/skeletal work communicates with the nervous system to invoke self-correctve reflexes, resulting in a feeling of balance and lightness, less or no pain, better sleep and general stress reduction.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. Highly relaxing, detoxing and gentle. Good for generalized bloating, inflammation, post- surgical swelling and lymphedema. Some of the benefits of lymphatic drainage massage include reduced swelling, pain and inflammation, enhanced immune system function, relaxation and stress relief.
